The idea of rent control is one that a lot of tenants love. Yours is only allowed to go up a certain percentage, regardless of what the rent is doing somewhere else, which can make it more affordable. Remember that each city has different rules when it comes to rent control and most of the time, these are going to be listed out in the state landlord-tenant laws.
